first session

A recent sat evening saw me attend Dr Sketchy's session at blu jazz cafe for the first time with emodaikon and it was quite an eye-opener. Sketches below are from 5 minutes' to 10 minutes' to 20 minutes' poses. Earlier on, there were one minute' poses which took me some time to recover from my composition as it had been damn a long time since life-drawing back in poly (like three years ago? sheesh.). Usually it would be line drawings of people on the train, taking my own sweet time. Nonetheless, I do really enjoy the session immensely. The calm atmosphere. The somewhat seemed like the drum beats lively music. The bold model with such strong, wild poses. It helped to discover my self-improvement and see what I could actually come up with. I'm glad I went (!) although it was a little difficult to draw with so many people around in a packed room. Looking forward to more life-drawings sessions.

Above of the lady crouching forward, if i'm not wrong, a 5minute pose, we were all asked to try drawing her with the other hand and that was what I came up with. Geez. That's the first.

Saw the others' works and they are quite cool. Here's an inspiring one: Audran G., the organiser of DrSketchy sessions. This too and that by Jonathan R.

Impressive.
