Recent Experience

Pretty passing view of nature during the train ride on the way to Rochester, NY for DeafNation Expo.

The campus at RIT is beautiful with all nature around, especially tall trees with different colors and shapes of leaves.

Last Saturday saw me having my own booth for the first time in selling my artworks and doing portrait drawings for customers. The greatest joy was the process of connecting with the people especially the Deaf community and getting to "hear" questions about art from children. To those who stopped by my booth, gave their kind compliments and bought my artworks, thank you so much. It was a very humbling experience to receive a sheer amount of support, and to have something in common with them - our deafness and struggles.

It definitely takes the courage to expose your personal works including sketchbooks out there and to take the risk of possibly making a loss. I realized that it is the experience that matters more than the result. I would like to share this quote by Neale Donald Walsch:

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Above all, special thanks to Joel Barish and his team for coordinating the DeafNation Expo Event, and to Ronnie and Natalya for being such a great host-friend-advertiser and for introducing me to your cool friends. Cheers.
